Calmar CWR completed!!! River sub CWR completed!!

As of September 23 we have installed just over 93 of the roughly 97 track miles to be completed by November 19th.  The L A Colo crew completed their portion of this year’s CWR program when they completed the Calmar CWR earlier this month and the IC&E CWR crew completed the River sub portion of the CWR program on Tuesday the 21st.   They will now install 5,000 ties near Muscatine prior to completing the CWR program on the Kansas City sub in October and November.

On the DM&E the Cobden section of CWR just this week had the surfacing completed and had the speed raised to 40 MPH.  This is the first time in memory that any track on the Tracy or Huron sub divisions has been above 30 MPH.  Crews will continue to work on the Arlington and Tyler sections of CWR of the Huron sub to raise those speeds to 40 MPH also. Crews are also working on the Calmar area of the Mason City sub to get that area up to 40 MPH by the end of the year also.

¨       Chad Roob’s crossing gang has been working on the crossings in the last section of the CWR near Tyler as well as crossings on the west end of the Tracy.

¨       Mike Anderson has overseen the cleanup of the scrap, usable rail and OTM on the Tyler project and is now assisting with coordinating the crossing renewals, tie renewal welding and surfacing project in the area

¨       Randy Parmenter’s continues installing crossings in the Calmar CWR area in preparation for Remington Hill’s surfacing crew completing the surfacing

¨       The clean up effort on the Calmar CWR is just beginning and will be completed in front of the final surfacing which is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
