DOWN TO THE LAST TWO TIE PROJECTS!!

 

The tie crews on both properties have already installed over 155,000 ties.  This is over 75% of the 185,000 ties now allocated for the 2005 production season.  The remainder of these ties is still scheduled to be installed with our three railroad crews by the end of October or early in November.

         

 

¨       The DM&E West tie gang (foreman Jim Nemec), has already installed ties on the Crawford sub, the east end of the PRC, west end of the PRC and the upper Black Hills subs this year. This crew has just recently completed projects near Wasta and between Wall and Quinn  and will now finish the rest of the year between JC siding and Midland.

¨       The DM&E east tie gang (foreman Kim Camp) has completed all of his projects for 2005 last week with the completion of the Tracy sub tie project.  This crew will assist with some operating walking inspections and then will return to their permanent positions.

¨       Steve Koser’s IC&E tie crew started this year on the double track at Kansas City and has completed the installation of 20,000 ties scheduled for this area.  This crew has installed another 20,000 ties on the single track of the Kansas City sub.  They will finish their 60,000 tie 2005 program when they complete the installation of 20,000 ties on the River sub in November.

¨       Contractor LA Colo installed over 45,000 ties on the Chicago, Marquette, Mason City and Owatonna subs this year and has been done with this project since early August.

¨       All 185,000 ties have been delivered and distributed on the two properties.

¨       As of October 19h, over 155,000 ties have already been installed.
