Sioux Falls, SD – One of the founders and a current executive with the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern (DM&E) Railroad, Lynn A. Anderson will be retiring after over 37 successful years in the railroad industry.

He also serves as the Corporate Secretary of the company and previously served on the company’s Board of Directors. Lynn was named Senior Vice President - Marketing in June of 2005.
“Lynn has been a very instrumental part of the tremendous growth and success of the DM&E, IC&E and Cedar American Rail Holdings families,” Kevin Schieffer, President and CEO of the DM&E and IC&E Railroads stated. “His knowledge, warm smile and positive can-do attitude will be missed by all who have the pleasure of working with him. We wish Lynn and his wife, Diane, the best as he begins his next journey into retirement!”
Anderson has a lengthy list of significant accomplishments within and outside the railroad industry. Prior to joining the DM&E, Lynn spent 15 years with the Chicago & North Western Railroad, including as the General Manager of Grain Marketing and Pricing. The DM&E and Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroads combined provide rail transportation services on 2500 miles of track in eight states in the upper Midwest. Over its 21 years as a railroad, DM&E has gone from near abandonment to becoming the largest regional railroad in the country. The DM&E/IC&E announced its merger with and acquisition by the Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP) on September 4, 2007. Control and integration of the railroads is subject to federal approval.
